By default, the search tool assumes that the user wants the results to contain all search words.
Other search options:
The OR operator: -
Users can specify certain sets of words, of which, only one set has to have all of its search words found.
eg, a search for: seo OR search engine optimization -
Will return results that contain seo, search engine optimization, or both.
Quotations: -
To match an exact phrase, enter the search string with quotes.
eg, a search for: "Website Software" search engine optimization
Will only return results that contain the exact phrase "Website Software" and the words search, engine and optimization.
Minus sign: -
If a user would like to pick only results that don't contain a certain keyword, a user may do so by using the subtraction operator.
eg: a search for: "Website software" -sitemapper
Will return pages that contain the phrase "Website software" but do not contain the word sitemapper.
Plus sign: -
Use a plus sign (+) in front of any search keyword and the search will return ALL of the documents containing that keyword.
eg, a search for "Website software" +sitemapper
Will only return pages that contain the phrase "Website software" which must include the word sitemapper.
Searches may also include the quotes ("), "and", "or".
Search tip:-
For local area searches, use Tipton, Smethwick, Oldbury etc. within the phrase.
